116 players went to play the V stage of the Spanish poker series last saturday at the well known casino in Aranjuez, making a great play among friends and partners
. At the end Julio Diaz got the victory getting the 3000 euros of the first prize, being the leader of the final table at all times 'till the end like a great champion.

Miticpoker to the final table of POKER IN
Guillem Franch, Mitic Poker player, made it to the final table of POKER IN last december the 8th.
130 players participated in this tournament that is the principal in the catalunya poker circuit. Every monday more than 100 players
take a chance in a very well structured tournament with a relative low buy-in. At the tables one can come up with so diferent background players, from the ones that
have their first live tournament to others that play in a more regular basis and are well know such as
Manel Cuberos, Carlos Ferrón, Carles Mulleras, Juan Martínez “El Cali”, Valentí Barruezo,
Juan Carlos Cela “Camilo” among others.
The first 3 places were for David Joan Rueda, Isaac Assos y Juan Martínez “el Cali”,
take took their money prizes and also got a place to play the Catalunya Poker Tour.
Guillem told us this is the forth time that plays this tournament. He tells he was patient within the first 5 hours, he dind't get any real chance to play
because of the bad pocket cards he was reparted and the big aggressiveness at the tables he played on. Not even a chance to steal pots.
Passed this stage, the game became an all-in of fold preflop because of his low stack, always below the media and was at this time when he started to get
good hands and was able to get more chips to get to the final table as the shortstack.
In his 7th hand as part of the final table, with 13.000 pts more or less, the blinds at 3.000/6.000 and the media at 40.000 puntos he got KJs
in middle position. With no other player on the hand he went all -in and was called by Valentí Barruezo with A7 in the small blind.
No chance of improving his hand, Guillem finished his participation on the tournament.

Our player Alvaro Ballesteros "Varico" won last night the most prestigious online tournament of the moment because of the quality of its players and its high buy-in.
Among 365 players, Varico played great as always and was the lider of the game for the last 3 hours of tournament with no other getting on top of his chips.
He won 78.000 euros and a recognition from all the poker community in Spain. Great VARICO!
IV STAGE SEP JUNIOR RESULTS
Once again, we had the joy of having such a great poker tournament in Arajuez, managed and directed by David Luzago and Nostrum Poker,
This time 110 players came to the Gran Casino de Aranjuez, despite we had an extra holyday this weekend, to enjoy the best low buy-in tournament there is in the Madrid Community, and they also took a chance on the many sit n' gos available.
All players had such a great time participating in the 4th stage of las Series
Españolas de Póquer Junior. Once again, the Pichones Team was the star of the night in what has become "their tournament". The actual lider of the SEP ranking, Antonio San Nicolás, senior Pichón team memeber, couldn't get very far in the tournament, but then it came the
turn for other 2 members that got the first and second places and the 5000 euros than came with them. José Luis Aldehuela defended our team name and got a very nice place too.

Great performance of our players in the monthly tournament at Casino Torrelonodes. 172 players participated in this nearby casino to celebrate one more edition of this well-known monthly tournament.

The third stage of the Spanish poker series jr has reported the biggest attendance ever. Thanks to the increase in the number of poker tables in the casino,
we could reacher the great number of 142 players that became the record of participation for the casino and for the nostrumpoker tournaments.
This is a great happening for the casino Aranjuez, that is now more compromised with the base poker and for the great management and direction of David Luzago.

Ruben Perez splited prizepool and Luzago got a fifth place in the Casino Gran Madrid Anniversary Tournament !!
The Casino Gran Madrid organized a poker tournament to celebrate its 27th anniversary, with a great structure of 12.000 initial points and
1 hour blinds. It gathered 74 players that took a chance at the game, paying the 500+50 euros buy-in to try and get their hands on the 10 good prizes.
The 2 Nostrumpoker players gave a great performance, with Luzago finishing in 5th place and Ruben chopping the big prize with the other 3 players left.

Last thursday sepember the 11th the first rebuys tournament took place in the Gran Casino Aranjuez directed and managed by David Luzago.
It was a 50 euros buy-in with unlimited 25 euros rebuys during the 3 first levels and a 25 euros add-on at their end.
So there were 98 players participating that made 261 rebuys and 64 add-ons that resulted on a 13.025 euros prize pool wich was reparted as follows:

New 2008-2009 tournaments at Aranjuez starts!
Great success with the beginning of the SEP junior !!
Last saturday the 6th started the Series Españolas de Póquer Junior organized by Nostrum Póker and directed by David Luzago at the Gran Casino de Aranjuez.
105 players participated paying a 100 euros buy in, making a prize pool of 10.500 euros. 500 were taken for the general rangking so 3 prizes can be destinated to the top 3 players at the end of the series on june.
12 prizes were given on this first stage, 3000 euros for the winner, Antonio San Nicolás(senior member of the "pichones" team), the second place received 1800 (Javier Mayoral) and the third place got 1200 (Luis Da Silva).
Remember that the Series Españolas de Póquer Junior will take place the first saturday of every month with no exception until june.

Nostrum decided to have a new and alternative face having their first appearance at the Casino Torrelodones on the Madrid stage of the
Campeonato de España, creating such an expectation. La “Cosa Nostrum” was the name, with players David Luzago” Cámara,
Álvaro Marino“Drácula” and Oscar “La púa” Blanco as members. Luzago and Oscar made it to the second day and it was Oscar who made a great ninth position.
FERNANDO FERNÁNDEZ! FIRST PLACE ON SEPTEMBER
The great spanish player, sponsored by Nostrum Póker finishes a great tournament, winning the first place at the stage of Madrid of the
Campeonato de España de Póker, and takes home 34.000 euros.

NEW ACTIVITIES AT NOSTRUMPOKER
Nostrumpoker begins the new 2008-2009 course and announces its new calendar of tournaments at the Gran Casino Aranjuez. On this occasion we will have 2 dates that will be the same (and easy to remember) every month :
1.First saturday of the month at 6:00pm: Series Españolas de Poker Junior, 100+10 freezeout. (Saturday september 6th will be the first)
Second thursday of the month at 8:30 pm: Rebuys Aranjuez Tournament, €50+ 5 buy-in, 25€ unlimited rebuys the first 3 levels (Thursday september 11th will be the first)
* Nostrumpoker will be celebrating other tournaments at the Gran Casino Aranjuez, like the Heads Up Spanish Championship (Campeonato de España de Heads Up), the Team Spanish Championship (Campeonato de España por Equipos), and the Omaha Spanish Championship (Campeonato de España de Omaha), all of them have no specific date yet.
*Nostrumpoker also open its doors to other casinos and will be celebrating periodic tournaments at the Casino de Villajoyosa in Alicante, and probably at the Casino de Aljarafe in Sevilla.

CHELO THE GREATEST!
The phenomenal player, Consuelo Navarro, better known as Chelo, has achived a great position at the WSOP Main Event, thanks to the Nostrumpoker sponsorship
that sent her to the World Series all included (housing, transportation and buy-in).
Consuelo was the general ranking winner of last year Series Españolas de Poker also winning the first prize that sent her to Las Vegas and play the WSOP Main Event.
Chelo made it big and, without spending a single $, returned home with $27.000

R.I.P. JUAN FERNÁNDEZ
We have lost one of the greatest. Juan Fernández the builder, Juan Fernández the player. He was always a great cash player, he dominated the game wherever he went, and there were also
rumors that he got to play at the famous bobby's room at the Bellagio Hotel, were the best player play and in the highest limits.
His experience was huge, winning all type of live-tournaments like on of the CEP and other one of the SEP.
He was a common player in our live tournaments, he won one of the stages and made several final tables positioning himself in the first places at the general ranking.
Made several final tables at other events, standing out the great leadership in the first day at the WSOP Main Event 2007.
All players who shared table with him knew it wasn't a "good business" having him there because he displayed a very agressive play and with his great experience made himself one of the best.
A great player has left us and a great person outside the tables. All of us who knew him know this well, we will miss you.
May the aces be with you where ever you are.
11TH PLACE FOR TERRAZAS AT THE SPANISH POKER TOUR
Last weekend, the Spanish poker tour took place at Casino Monte Picayo, nearby Valencia city, organized by Everestpoker. More than 100 players participated, paying the 1.100 € to get a chance and put a hand on the 109.000€ pot.
Eventhough none of our players got to the final table, we must mention the great work made by on of the greatest: Santi Terrazas
who got the 11th place when descalificated by Tomeu.
His participation got to an end with QJ preflop in hand against AK from Amatos, and just the A got a chance when no other important card appeared on the table.
We must say that Dracula, Lapúa and Krusty also participated.
DAVID LUZAGO, THIRD PLACE IN THE PARALLEL TOURNAMENT:: JUNE 19th
The poker festival last weekend got a great final celebrating a 550€ buy-in tournament on sunday. Many national players decided to take a chance, as did Marga González, who got the final price.
Out player, the well-know Spanish poker series director, David Luzago, got a very good third place, and a better taste of mouth after he couldn't get much further in the main event.

I SPANISH OPEN IN VILLAJOYOSA:: JUNE 19TH
Last weekend, nostrumpoker in collaboration with betfair poker, celebrated the best poker event of the year in the Villajoyosa mediterranean casino.
His 2.200€buy-in and his structure made all remember the only tournament of that category celebrated in Spain, the European Poker Tour.
Many of the regular players of the spanish circuit went to the event, as did some international poker stars such as Anette Obestrad , AKA Anette 15.
After 3 days of tournament, it was the valencian player Vedast Sanxis who won the first place when overcoming the heads up with the nostrumpoker player Kiko Lacasa.
This very young player got home the 42.000 first place. Congratulations!
FINAL SPANISH POKER SERIES AT ARANJUEZ:: JUNE 10th
Last saturday we got to the end of a great poker circuit, in the Great Casino Aranjuez. The 10 stages of the Spanish Poquer series, the 3 stages of the spanish poquer series junior, The Heads Up championship, The Special Tournament of Semana Santa, The Casino Anniversary Special Tournament and the Spanish Team tournament have given us some special and non-forgetable moments in the spanisk poquer history.
All of them sponsored by Nostrumpoker.com, and directed by the great David Luzago. All of them have been transmited live in our web by the great Julieta that have made something more of the narration of this sport.
This last stage gave us the winner of the ranking, Consuelo Navarro, AKA Chelo, a regular player of the spanish circuit. She managed to stay in the top and didn't allow his follower Fernando Fernández to kick her off. In this way, Chelo will get to Las Vegas to play the Main Event of the WSOP.
The sencond prize goes to Fernando Fernández, another regular player, and the third to Javier Etayo, that got on top of 3 other players that where very close to that prize: José Aldehuela, Cayetano García and Luis de Haza.
Javier also got the first place in this last stage, that got him to get into the top 3 and go to Las Vegas to play a minor event.
We would like to thank everybody who helped Nostrumpoker to be on the top in the organizations of events, and also thank the Great Casino Aranjuez for all its efforts and the hospitality that came from all of them, dealers, directors and in special to Javier Pastrana for all his help in all the things related to poker.
We also thank all players that went to play the tournaments because without them nothing of this could have been posible.
Next year nostrumpoker will be organizing events around Spain, and will still be colaborating with the Great Casino Aranjuez, that has been our home.
LUZAGO 13TH PLACE IN THE UNIBET OPEN:: MAY 29TH
Our player, David Luzago, got a very good 13th place in the tournament that registered more players in the Madrid community history.
The unibet room organized a macro-event with more that 300 players, much of them came from all parts of Europe, and 55 of them were spanish that play regularly in the spanish circuit. From nostrum: Santi Terrazas, Oscar "la pua" Blanco, Alvaro Marino "Dracula" Igancio Guerra "Krusty" and David Camara "Luzago".
A 1.500€ buy-in, gathering more than 450.000€ prize pool, made this an international event with players (amateurs and professionals) from many parts of Europe that fighted for the nice quantity of 120.000€for the winner.
There were a lot of scandinavians, dutchs, italians and french players. David got into the final table but he couldn't put his hands on the big prize because of a horrible bad-beat. After thinking a long time, he called the all-in of a nordic player with 88 just to see the A3 of his opponent get away with an A in the river. He was sent home with a bad taste of mouth but with 5.300€ for his efforts.

SPANISH POKER SERIES AND SPANISH POKER SERIES JUNIOR:: MAY 8TH
Both the SPS and the SPSJ were held at the Great Casino Aranjuez. On saturday is was the nineth Spanish Poker series stage and on sunday was the time to players to enjoy the Spanish poker series junior.
On saturday we had a very hard tournament as it was the penultimate chance to summ points and get a hand in the first 3 places and get to Las Vegas.
>mong the posible winners there are Consuelo Navarro, who is at the top right now, followed by Fernando Fernández and luis de La Haza. In fourth place is Jose L. Aldehuela and in fifth JAvier Etayo.
This time, the winner was Jerónimo Sánchez, followed by Miguel LLavero and Luis de La Haza. Congratulations to all!!
As for the series junior, it was full of new joung players thar are interested in knowing more about the game, and there were also not such amateurs as Pakito, Klauss, Laura Cantero, Juanzo, Rafael Canoira, Aurea Fdez., Jorge Kokoliso, Jesus Cristobal, among others.
And it was Laura, who was chipleader almonst all the tournament, who won the game. The second place was Jesús Cristobal, and the third Sergio Bolado.
We had such a great night and the participation doesn't seem to fade eventhough next day is working-day. Well, thanks to everybody and see you on june!
CEP VALLADOLID: APRIL 28TH
The Spanish Championship was held last weekend in Valladolid. 117 players participated gathering a prize pool of 67.400€ and nostrumpoker was ther of course.
After 3 days of game, the called "bubble boy" was Luis Rodríguez, getting a 11th place and winning almost 1000€.
Xibu(Javier Iraola) managed to get into the final table with 157.000 points, beeing surpassed only by 2 other players, Alberto Boal with 222.000 and Pedro Pellicer PedroKL with 169.100.
His final hand J9 was surpassed by a pair of 3, that could not be improved with any of the common cards. Nevertheless, we should congratulate this player because of his efforts and the 3.400€ that took home.
NOSTRUM IN THE SPT:: APRIL 22
The SPT (Spanish poker tour) by Everespoker, was celebrated in the Great Casino Aranjuez. It was a 3 days event, with a 1000€ buy-in in wich 134 players participated, some of them were: La pua, Jaume Bertran, Luis Rodriguez, David Luzago, Krusty, Javier Etayo, Chelo, DjGuil J.L., Santi Torres, Laura Cantero, Raúl Páez, Santi Terrazas and Carles Mulleras among others.
And these 2 last are who got further, Santi Terrazas got a eighth place keeping a 4.100€ prize, and Carles got a 12th when he lost K10 vs AA of the dutch Sybrand Maal, who won the tournament. Carles got 2.100€

VIII STAGE OF THE SPANISH POQUER SERIES WON BY OSCAR LAPUA:: APRIL 5
Oscar la pua is now the winner of this VIII Spanish poker series stage that is almonst at its end.
Many are the players that are fighting to get the final prizes and their trip to Las Vegas.
Names such as Varico, Etayo, Chelo, Santiago Terrazas, Dracula, Juan Fernández, Luis de la Haza, Carlos García "Vamito", among others, when to the casino to play the tournament. There where also the first ones in the ranking list, Fernando Fernández, José L. Aldehuela, Luis de la Haza, Cayetano, Aurea among others.
Final table lasted a lot with 3 well-known players, Oscar Lapua, Varico y JAvier Etayo (winner of the last stage). After a long long time, Varico, who had lost a lot of his stack with Javier Etayo, was kicked out by Lapua.
At the end, the 2 players left decided to chip-chop, getting 35 point each for the ranking, and it was Lapua who won.

GREAT WEEK FOR VARICO
Great week for this nostrumpoker player that got to 2 consecutive final tables in 2 big tournaments of 2 of the most important online poker rooms, a fifth place in the Fulltilt poker 1K on may 17th, and a tenth place in the poker Stars supertuesday.
On tuesday 25th wins the 100 rebuy and gets another 35K to the bankroll. This tournament was won upon some funny anecdotes: when there where only 5 players, the chipleader proposes a final pact wich gets him almonst all the prize and the rest to be parted between the 4 others (Varico included). Everybody agreed except Varico that finished saying "I don't speak english", when he had been speaking it during all the tournament.
Step by step, he got everyplayer out and won the prize, as it must be!

II STAGE OF THE SPANISH POQUER SERIES JUNIOR:: MARCH 4
Last sunday we had the spanish poker series tournament in the great Casino Aranjuez. More than 90 players got to the casino and got the chance to be part of an importan event, a party of poker, at a very good price.

NEW SPANISH POQUER SERIES WINNER. SEVENTH STAGE FINISHED
it was around 4:30am of monday when the new winner was announced: JAVIER ETAYO, regular player of the spanish circuit and joung promise of the game got the first place of the great tournament.
As usual, the tournament was built upon good vibrations and everybody had a good time among friends, and it was also full of emotions. The game lasted long 'till the heads up came up between Javier and, the well-known player, Luis de La Haz. Moreover, TV also came, we had the visit of Antena 3, spanish tv, to film the event.
Nostrumpoker had the chance and hope to get many of its players to the final table when there were only 20 players left, but only José Luis Aldehuela managed to get into it and got a very good third place.
The tournament is almost at its end, and players are playing hard to be in the 3 first places of the ranking. Remember that these players will get a trip to Las Vegas, all paid, and with an entrance to an important tournament (first places gets the M.E)

PABLO BALDOR WINS THE 6TH STAGE OF THE SPANISH POKER SERIES: FEB 17TH
He got the first price among all players that were almost 50. As always, the sexth stage of the tournament took place in the Gran Casino Aranjuez, on sunday. The final table was full of well-known players sucha as Juan Fernandez, Chelo o Jose Manuel Perez.
We must emphazise the fifth place that Alvaro Marino "Dracula", nostrum player, got and the very good performance from Carlos Garcia "Vamito" (4th), May Maceiras (3rd) and the Spanish poker Championship 2007 champion Fernando Martín (2nd). Congratulations Pablo!
HUGE SUCCESS, FIRST SPANISH TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: FEB 16TH
26 teams went this weekend to the Gran Casino Aranjuez hoping to participate in this Nostrumpoker tournament, such a peculiar and fun game. This tournament, directed by David Luzago, gave teams from all over Spain such a great time. Internet poker rooms teams such as Nostrum, Unibet, Bet Fair, Los pelayo, Everest, NoIq; Webs teams such as Poquer red, 52 cartas, Torneos Poquer; magazines team like Planet Poquer and many other private teams ejoyed this one-of-a-kind night where almost all spain poker gathered.
After so many hours of play, just 8 teams got to the final table and the NoIQ portuguese team won in the final Heads up against one Nostrum team (with Carles, Miguel, Jaume and Luis) where so incredible hands gave everybody a thrilling night. Congratulations to all teams, specially those who got the 4 first places (NoIq, Nostrum, Bet Fair y las chicas de Everest). We think it is a great beginning and we will sure have more championships of this kind.

Our player, Carles Mulleras, gets an exceptional 8th place in the Peralada CEP tournament and wins a good prize: 3500 euros. Such a shame his AK suited didn't make it against the 99 of his opponent. Congratulations Carles and hope you have better luck in the future!

Last weekend, almost all of the Nostrumpoker team went over there to play the I Poker Open of the Villajoyosa casino. 180 players gathered for the tournament were you could take a glimpse of great spanish players.
David Luzago, one of our members, was the first day competition leader but could't stay up there for the second day when he was kicked out of the tournament. Nacho "Krusty" Guerra got a great 14th place at the end of the tournament after managing to stay on float in a roller coaster game. On the other side, Miguel Fernández achieved another score with a third place in a sunday parallel event, reaffirming his good run of luck.
SEP JUNIOR. JANUARY 13 2008
Great entrance and management, such a couple that made the first stage of the "Spanish Poker Series Junior" (series Españolas de Poquer junior) a great success. That and a very good enviroment are some of the reasons we will have a second event soon enough.
It was a 100€ NL freezeout tournament giving each player 5.000 chip points. The final prize gathered almost 8.000 points giving the first place the sum of 3.000€, the second took home 1.500€ and the third one got 900€. This was such a great idea from the Nostrumpoker team and was a reallity thanks to the Great Casino Aranjuez, that gives a chance to everyone (pros and no pros) to enjoy this game. Many sit n' go's for all pocketstook place that day and the previous one, when the 5th stage of The Spanish Poker Series was played. The answer from people was best than expected so we are sure this would not be the only event of this kind.

JUAN FERNÁNDEZ, FIFTH STAGE WINNER OF THE SPANISH POKER SERIES . JANUARY 12 ENERO 2008
Juan Fernandez a well-know poker player in Spain and its poker circuits, was crowned fifth stage winner of the Spanish Poker Series. He managed to stay victorious among the 53 opponents that took a chance on the saturday meeting that lasted till next day at 6am. Miguel Fernandez, Nostrum team veteran player, achieved a second place showing that he's still in a very good shape and that his passed good results are not only because of luck. Also, we'd like to emphasize the third place obtained by one of the youth promises of spanish poker, Javier Etayo.
MIGUEL, TORRELODONES CHAMPION., JANUARY 2008
Miguel Fernandez is still "wipping out" live tournaments tables. This time got the first place in the Torrelodones casino monthly tournament. He has an aggressive play that puts all his opponents on their knees and makes a terrifing player out of him. He now can add 17.000 more euros to his profits.
In this same tournament, out player Dracula obteined a very good sixth place and took home 4.000. Congratulations.

Last weekend took place the last stage of the Spanish Poker Championship in Madrid. Many of our players went to the event, among them was Lapua, Santi Terrazas, Luzago, Dracula, Miguel Fernandez and Jaume Bertran and some others. It was Jaume who made the best result and managed to get into the final table, enjoing a good strategy only to be stopped by bad luck. It was a shame but at the same time a very good place for the catalan player to add to his records. ¡¡CONGRATULATIONS!!
¡LUZAGO AGAIN! dic 12th 2007
Last weekend took place the first poker tournament brought up by the Coruña Casino, and some of our players took the time to move over there (Miguel Fernadez, Alvaro Marino "Drácula", Nacho "Krusty" Guerra, Santi Terrazas, Luzago, etc..)
We sure emphasize the participation of such great players as "Tralaira", "Djalminha", Norberto (CEP winner in Valladolid) and, of course, Juan "Vietcong01" Maceiras.
It was a texas holdemtournament and took place in the great Casino Atlantico of Coruña. David "Luzago" Cámara was the leader and final winner of the tournament getting the first place and its prize: almost 11.000 euros, not bad uh? We also want to stand out Santi Terrazas's great play and his not-bad-at-all second place. These are Nostrumpoker's ways: getting 2 of its greater players to the top!

SPANISH POKER SERIES, FORTH STAGE, DIC FIRST 07
Fernando Fernandez a well-known poker player here in Madrid, got the first place of the Spanish Poker Series forth-stage, and manages to climb to second position in the general ranking. Ranking that everybody's fighting for because there are 3 great prizes than consist of a trip (travel and hotel included) to Las Vegas Nevada to play in the World Series of Poker next june.
THIRD WINNER OF THE SPANISH POKER SERIES, nov 12 07
Constantine Chivu, ruman player that lives in Alicante and plays the Villajoyosa Circuit on a regular basis, gets the first place in the Spanish Poker Player third stage that was celebrated last saturday november the 10th. He defeated the 71 other players that were playing along in the tournament and got the third position in the general ranking. ¡Congratulations!

Nostrums team member David Luzago, right now in America, gets a great third place in an annual Texas Hold'em tournament in Lima
(Perú), getting back home with 20.000$ of the grands. This is a mega-tournament as called by the peruans and usually has a very good entrance from players of many countries like: Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, Uruguay, USA, etc... even two spanish were among the players but the one that made his name big was ours.

CAYETANO GARCIA SECOND STAGE WINNER OF THE SPANISH POKER SERIES
Last weekend took place the second stage of the Spanish Poker Series. It was on saturday october the 6th when players such as Lapua, Santi Terrazas, Dracula, Varico, Vamito, DjGuil, Pakito, among others, took a chance to get their hands on the big prize. Players were having a very good time and were enjoing the game. That was very much the case of Cayetano García, who took the first place and got 40 points to add to his position in the general ranking. ¡Congratulations Cayetano!
AVARO BALLESTEROS, SPANISH HEADS UP CHAMPIONS: Sept 23th 07
Last weekend took place the first Spanish Heads Up Championship. Many well-know players where in the Great Casino Aranjuez that saturday , some like Oscar la pua, Gullermo Garcia, Juan Manuel Pastor, Alvaro Marino, Emilio Vindel, Santiago Terrazas, etc..). At the end, and after many hours of play, it was Alvaro Ballesteros "Varico", Nostrumpoker player who got the first prize. The second and third places were won by the actual Spanish Poker Championship, Julio Díaz, and the Nostrumpoker player David Cámara "Luzago".
ISSAC MAYOLAS FIRST WINNER OF THE SPANISH POKER SERIES: SEP 11 07
We are proud to announce that the Spanish Poker Series began last saturday and sunday (sept 8th and 9th) at the Great Casino Aranjuez, revealing the name of the first winner of this new poker circuit. Issac Mayolas, Barcelona HU Championship 2006 champion won the tournament and took 14,000 euros home. The winning hand: Q8 that got him a full when 8 8 came on the flop and a Q in the river.
We also celebrate the followed-up places: second place Gustavo Martín and third place Emilio Vindel (Nostrumpoker player). And just to remind you all that the next stage will be on october the 6th and the 7th of this same year. ¡We hope to see you all there!

SANTI TERRAZAS, STILL ON THE THIRD DAY OF THE WSOP M.E.! 12- jul
After a long play that begun last wednesday around 9:00 pm (Spanish time) and lasted until 9:30 am next day (spanish time) some spanish players are still in the tournament: Juan Carlos Mortensen with 254.000points , Juan Fernández with 261.000, Jorge Plá with 153.000 y Santiago Terrazas with 214.000, everyone with a stack bigger than the averange.
If we were to stand up a play it would be Santi's hand: his opponent, in middle, re-raise Santi's previous raise to 8.000. After all table folded, Santi goes all in and the same opponent calls.
The other fellow got J J against Santi's AK. The cards displayed on the table showing a beautiful A on the turn and a K on the river getting Santi's stack to 260,000 chip points.

ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A POKER TOURNAMENT.. IN LAS VEGAS
As everyone may know by now, the WSOP Main Event is been played at Las Vegas. Over there we have some spanish players that went to see if they could return with lots of money. Some of them are Santi Terrazas y Oscar La Púa. Now that day 1C is over, the first one has 36.000 chips points stack and the second one 35.000. Also, fighting for the big prize are Jorge Plá with 43.000 and Juan Fernández with 188.000. Soon we'll see Pakito and Carlos Mortensen going into the "ring" when they enter the tables next tuesday. Hope one of our players make it big!!

THE SPANISH POKER SCHOOL MAKES IT IN LAS VEGAS
Not just Varico can make it. To his 3 first places in passed tournaments we can add Luzago's achievement in Las Vegas: He got a third place in the Bellagio championship and gained 12.000$. It didn't stop there as he got another sixth place in the Caesars Palace tournament that registered an entrance of 240 players 3 days after.
Meanwhile, Alvaro Marino "Dracula" got a very good sixth place in the Venezian deep stack adding 9.000$ to the gains Congratulations!!
AND VARICO STILL GOING-.. BELLAGIO'S TOURNAMENT
It was the Bellagio the place that witnessed the poker power of a spanish player, "Varico", and the team behind him (Spanish Poker School). He got a very good fourth place in the $1500 No limit Hold 'em daily tournament. We must emphazise that Alvaro started the final table as chip leader but a couple of hands pulled him out of the competition. Nevertheless, things are still looking very good for this great poker player. We'll be waiting for good news, no doubt we'll soon have'em. ¡Congratulations!

Last weekend an excellent night took place at School: Pablo
Marino got first place in the Poker Stars 100 rebuys (the hardest tournament online for many)
and in the Poker Stars 20 rebuys. Also, Alvaro "Varico"
Ballesteros got another good prize (like he did in the 6th event) in the de Full Tilt World Series (FTOPS) 7th event: the Omaha High Low. He finished third place among the 1000 players that were participating, and made it clear that he's the player "of the moment" in Spain and the best player online that this country has. A fifth place in the Ultimate Bet 100 rebuys closed a wonderful night for him.

SECOND EEP CHAMPIONSHIP AT ARANJUEZ
On saturday May the 12th The Spanish Poker School celebrated its second Championship at Gran Casino Aranjuez. Like in the first championship, many well-known players of the country went to the casino to enjoy one of the best tournaments of
Spain. It has a very good structure and management: the 45 minutes blinds and a starting final table on 1500-3000 or 2000-4000 blinds with an averange 130.000 chip points stack makes it the most playable tournament in the country.
At the end Cristobal Delgado, a well-known player in the domestic circuit, got the first place and won 10.000 euros.
Santiago Terrazas, from the Spanish Poker School, got the second place and Jose Manuel Rebenaque the third. A great tournament in a great casino.
BALDOR THE GREATEST!
One more time the Spanish Poker School makes it clear that has and has had the greatest players in our country. Pablo Fernández Baldor wons the first prize of the Spanish Poker Championship that took place in the Extremadura Casino in Badajoz. He made it to the end among the 70 players that were also wishing to put their hands in the big prize, but only him got the chance.

Our player Alvaro Ballesteros "VARICO-SUPERVAR", has completed 10 days of absolutly shocking results as he got a place in 2 final tables in the Mansion Poker 100,000 granted , a place in a final table at BossMEdia, a first place in Fulltilt's 150$ and he also got clasified for the WSOP in this same room. Moreoever he got a second place in the Poker Stars Warm Up last sunday. Varico the greatest.
SPECIAL "HOLY WEEK" TOURNAMENT (SEMANA SANTA TOURNAMENT)
Last april the 14th took place the first tournament directed by the Spanish Poker School at the Great Aranjuez Casino. This is the first of many tournaments that will take place in this place. We'll keep you informed right in this web of any news regarding future dates, structures, buy-ins, etc.
At the end of this tournament it was Ricard Bocevich, an usual player inside the spanish circuit, the one that got the big prize. We can proudly say the tournament was a big hit as were the parallel sit'n'gos that were also played. To stand out our director's great performance David Luzago and the good participation of numerous well-know spanish players. In resume, a great success by the Spanish Poker School that we hope can be seen soon enough.
LA PUA'S RESULTS IN MONTECARLO
From Spain we send a big hug to Oscar "LaPúa" who got a very nice 40th place in the toughest live tournament: The Great EPT Final at Montecarlo. The whole Spanish Poker School followed all his hours of play and we are proud to announce that he shared table with Carlos Mortensen and there were times that Oscar's stack overcomed Carlos'. At the end he got the quantity of € 23,230 euros but in top of all the international recognition.

TOURNAMENT WEEKEND IN VALLADOLID
New success in the Spanish Poker Championship!!
One more time the Spanish School makes it clear that it has the best poker players in the country as two of them got into the final table.
David Luzago ends up in 14th place, a place almonst as good as the one he got in Villajoyosa (12th). As for Álvaro “Varico” Ballesteros, he shows his great class once again and ends up second place the same way Dracula did in the previous tournament.

New score by the School!
Four of our players went to the second stage of the Spanish Poker Championship that took place in the Mediterranean Casino in Villajoyosa and 2 of them got to the final day. David Luzago got a worthy twelve place after he received a very disgusting bad beat when he went all in preflop with AA in hand and his opponent called showing 89.
In the other side, Álvaro Marino "Drácula" got into the final table and obtained a more-than-excellent second place that makes him climb to the third position in the general ranking. In all the tournament he used a very solid and agressive play that made the rest of players shake.

LAST NEWS FROM PUA: $500 L.A. CLASSIC 2007 TOURNAMENT CHAMPION (WPT)
Our player Oscar Lapúa wins the WPT L.A Poker Classic 500$ NL freezout that took place at the Commerce Casino and had a $328,345 prize Pool and an entrance of 677.
Once again one of the big poker figures of the country stands out and shows his great class, and this time in the "meca" of poker that is no other than USA. The final HU was against the american Paul Darden, WPT winner that had no chance against the great play Pua displayed.

Oscar Lapua, got the second place in the spanish Championship even though he matched in points in the general rankging with the now called Champion of the Spanish PokerChampionship 2006.
After a hard-to-describe championship final in the superb
Peralada castle where he finished third, Oscar achieved the imposible to catch up in points with the ranking leader until that moment (Francisco López "Pakito"). The final decision to have just a champion was decided by the tournament management only. |
